Webster Bedell Jones, born October 23, 1939, passed away in the morning hours of December 30, 2024 from complications of leukemia. “Web” was a dedicated man of faith who served a mission in New Zealand for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In New Zealand, he became acquainted with his future wife’s family. He later married the love of his life, Sandra Jones (neé Dunlop). He has been widowed since May 2019. He is beloved for his kind manner, industrious energy and strength to all who knew him.
Web was devoted to his church, his wife, and his family.
In his professional life, Web excelled as a civil servant in the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, where he rose to Division Chief of Special Services. He also served his country in the Wyoming Air National Guard as a C-130 flight engineer, earning the prestigious rank of Chief Master Sergeant.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Webster DeLaMater Jones and Betty Jo Anderson (neé Bedell); his stepfather, Ernest Anderson and his wife, Sandra Jones (neé Dunlop).
He is survived by and sorely missed by his sister, Paula Hale; his brother, Richard Anderson; and his four children, David Jones, Drew Jones, Carolee Jones, and Frith Ann Drietz.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3311 Hayford Ave, Laramie. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
