Tracy L. Cope, 79, died Friday January 8th, 2016 in Rock River, Wyoming.
He was born on August 7th, 1936 in Loveland, Colorado, the son of Lowell and Evelyn (Ramsey) Cope. He was raised and received his education in Livermore, Colorado. He was an active member of the local 4-H club, and served in the Action Reserves at age 21. On one of the cattle drives they made, stretching from Livermore to Laramie River Valley he met his one and only Patsy R. (Monier) Cope along the Poudre. They were soon to be married on October 27th, 1961 in Laporte, Colorado. The couple ranched in the Bellvue area, and worked at the Centennial Livestock Auction, also known as the Farmer Rancher Livestock Auction. They moved up Rist Canyon, Colorado where they raised their five rambunctious boys. In 1997 the family moved their ranch to Rock River, Wyoming. Tracy had a passion for his livestock and horses throughout his lifetime. When he wasn’t working, you could find him fishing and spending time with his family. He loved sharing stories and smiles with his grandchildren. He was a tough cattleman, whose soft heart and warm smile touched many people.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Evelyn (Ramsey) Cope; wife Patsy Monier Cope;
He is survived by his five sons and their wives, Kyle and Linda Cope of Cheyenne, Wyo., Trevor and Shelli Cope of Hay Springs, Neb., Carr and Cheri Cope of Rock River, Wyo., Clay Cope of Rock River, Wyo., Kent and Jennifer Cope of Bellvue, Colo.; a sister of Colo.; 10 grandchildren, Brandon and Breanne Cope of Hay Springs, Kyle Cope of Laramie, Libby, Logan, Mykala, and Millie Cope of Bellvue, Ashley, Monique, and Kaitlyn Cope of Rock River; 2 great grandchildren, and a niece Rachelle Monier.
Cremation and private family services have taken place.
