Theodora “Dorothy” M. Dueweke, 96, died at Laramie Care Center on May 20, 2016. She was born in Solms, Texas on May 19, 1920 to Herman and Lottie Soechting. She grew up there and graduated from High School and then attended Physicians and Surgeons School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas. She received her degree on June 8, 1942 as a Registered Nurse.

She was married to L.G. “Duke” Dueweke on January 10, 1943 in San Antonio. After his discharge from the Navy, they returned to Laramie to make their home and raise a family.

She was a lifetime member of the Albany County Cowbells, Charter member of DOE Lodge 254, a 40-year member of the Hummel Club, 4-H leader for 10 years and was active in gardening work and helping others. She worked at doctor’s offices and Ivinson Memorial Hospital for 12 years before retiring in 1965.

She is survived by her sons, Laurence G. Jr., of Laramie, Hermann L. of Friendswood, Texas and Michael J. his wife Cathy, granddaughter, Lauren and great-granddaughter Lily, all of Charlottesville, Virginia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will be held.
