Stephen G. “Steve” Hoffine Sr., 84, of Laramie, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 30, 1939, in Dover, Idaho to Leon and Helen Hoffine. On November 25, 1957, Steve married the love of his life Ethel Kemp in Sandpoint, Idaho.
While in Laramie Steve operated Bimbos Pizza Parlor, was the owner of the Wyoming Sportsman’s Gun Show until 2019, worked for and retired from WyoTech from 1977-2009 and was on the board of directors for the Wyoming Weapons Collectors. Steve was a devoted family man with a kind heart. He was the type of man that would do anything for you and there wasn’t anyone he met that didn’t become a friend or family from that point on. Steve had many “bonus” children and grandchildren. He loved and cherished time spent with his family traveling, on camping trips, fishing, attending gun shows and collecting Remington and Freedom Arms. His favorite adventures were his family trips to Florida, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Carbondale, Colorado. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a joke or story to tell, he always had plenty of love to share. No matter how old Steve got, he was busy living life to the fullest. He loved to make pizza for his family and try new breweries.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Ann Hoffine, parents Leon and Helen Hoffine, stepmother Luella (Johnson) Hoffine, siblings Lavalle Hoffine, Denny Hoffine, Helen (Hoffine) Aitken, and Joyce (Hoffine) Campbell.
Steve is survived by his wife Ethel Ann Hoffine, sister-in-law Hazel Turner, sister-in-law Lydia Neu, brother-in-law Ray (Deb) Kemp, sister-in-law Sue (Jack) McNutt, his children Morena (Tom) Wroblewski, Gayla (Bud) Baldwin, Steve Jr, (Mary) Hoffine, his grandchildren Jason (Robin) Baldwin, Jesse (Sarah) Baldwin, Travis (Emily) Wroblewski, Mitch (Brittny) Wroblewski, Justin (Tim) Stewart, Caitlyn Stewart, Jeremiah (Abi) Stewart, Sid (KC) Huhndorf, great grandchildren Asia, Desharia, Kiana, Atley, Allie, Teaghan, Mira, Asher, Taylee, Kade, Maliyah, great-great grandchildren, Luis, Leonardo, Gabriel, Zeus, Oliver and numerous nieces and nephews
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 10th, 2024, at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Albany County 4-H Shooting Sports C/O PO Box 942, Laramie, WY 82073.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caring people at Merdith & Jeannie Ray Cancer Center, Ivinson Memorial Hospital and Hospice House of Laramie.

Hoffine family,so sorry to hear about Steve. Really got to know him at Wyo Tech. Him and his side kick Jock were a pair to be reckoned with. Always happy and pleased to talk to. Great man.

Steve was a rare friend to all that knew him, always wonderful to be with. I will miss him a great deal in the future. My thoughts are with his family and all that knew him.

I want y’all to know that I have fond memories of y’all and Steve. So many cherished memories of all of us in Laramie and at The Fort, not to mention the crazy elk camps! My prayers for peace and comfort to each and every one of you. I know that my dad and your dad are have one helluva reunion in heaven hunting for the “big” elk!
