Sherry Irene Anderson

Sherry Irene Anderson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on 4/6/2025 after her long fight with Cancer in Laramie, Wyoming. Born on July 6, 1951, in Evanston, Wyoming, she was the daughter of Ralph and Gloria Stahley.

Sherry’s roots ran deep in Wyoming. She graduated from Laramie High School and continued her education at the University of Wyoming, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. Her passion for learning and sharing knowledge led her to a career that resonated deeply with her spirit.

A teacher at heart, Sherry found joy in guiding students, whether it was through the strokes of a paintbrush in art classes or by stepping in as a substitute teacher, even venturing to impart for the Spanish language. Her innate ability to connect with people made her a natural in any setting.

On 6/29/1973 Sherry married the love of her life, David Anderson, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter for 52 wonderful years. Their family was the center of her world, and she was a devoted mother to her three children: Shawna Blue, Tonya Pierce, and David Anderson Jr.

Sherry’s vibrant personality and love for connecting with others extended beyond the classroom. She was a successful businesswoman, channeling her creativity and people skills into ventures in both crafts and picture framing. Her keen eye for detail and warm demeanor made her a trusted and admired figure in the local business community.  Sherry was also a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge where she built enduring friendships.

While Sherry enjoyed the occasional exciting trip to Blackhawk or Las Vegas, her greatest joy was undoubtedly spending time with her family. She cherished every moment with her children and her adoring grandchildren and even great grandchildren. Her love, support, and unwavering presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sherry’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched as a teacher, a businesswoman, and most importantly, as a loving and devoted family member.

Sherry was a wonderful woman, wife, mother, and artist. I began using her framing talents many years ago. Sherry and I loved to do counted cross stitch. Over the years, we would discuss our current projects with each other. She would frame my many, many projects and show me what she was working on. Dave made many of the frames and Tonya would assist Sherry with putting everything together. All were very talented. Sherry will be greatly missed by all, but I know she is in a better place now without pain. God bless her family and friends who will miss her terribly. But, they need to remember that she would want them to carry on and live their lives to the fullest.

I enjoyed Sherry's down-to-earth, positive approach when she was puzzling out the best way to frame an artwork, and during conversations on our trips to Denver and Boulder to pick up framing supplies. She will be greatly missed by the arts community and by all who relied on her willingness to meet last minute framing timelines!. She persevered despite tremendous health challenges these past few years. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Dave, and your family, during this time of grief, remembrances, and celebration of her life.

Dave and Families, Sherry's amazing positivity, bravery and kindness carried her for many years, a lesson I hope to have learned from her. She will be missed by many more than we will ever know. May God bless all of you as I know Sherry is in God's arms.

What an amazing person Sherry was; no matter what she was going through, she was always upbeat and positive, kind and looking for ways to help others. I got into jigsaw puzzle building over 20 years ago....Evey puzzle I built Sherry framed for me; well over 100. Sherry had such an eye for art work of all kinds and did the most beautiful job on every piece no matter how big or small. Going to truly miss her smiling face and the joy she brought so many

I've been bowling with Sherry for almost 20 years now. She was such a great bowler. I will always remember how she took her mom with her everywhere she went. Sherry had such a kind spirit. She will be missed.
