Serena Melissa Romero

Serena Melissa Romero (1981-2025)

Serena Romero, 43, of Laramie, Wyoming, left home on March 2nd, 2025, to go to God and to be with her sacred family.

Serena was born in Laramie on May 20th, 1981, to Jose C. Romero Jr., and Christine A. Cortez, and was named after the Serenity Prayer her mother heard recited during a challenging labor.

Serena graduated from the Climb Program and became a doctor’s assistant. She continued her education studying and specializing in massage therapy for nearly 15 years.

She became a gifted healer with both her hands and mind, most recently at Healing Foundations Massage. She was a true healer with her deeds and her generous heart.

Serena was a devoted mother to Alina, Lili, Avi, and Xochitl, each one her pride and joy. Their births changed her life into a complete blessing, and her children felt that in the love and care she so generously gave.

Serena took special joy in dancing, singing, and eating sushi, always helping wherever she could. She delighted in speaking the deep truths of life with the ones close to her. She had fond memories of her times with her crew and family, and fiercely loved those closest to her with an unshakable flame.

Please pray for her easeful journey into Paradise.

Serena was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Cortez, and her grandfathers, Jose C. Romero Sr. and Randy Cortez, and is survived by her Grandmother, Elifonsa Romero, her aunts Camille Cortez and Karen Garcia, her father, Jose C. Romero Jr., her siblings, Rosana Barrow, Valentino Romero, Antonio and Renee Romero, and her beautiful children, Alina Romero, Liliana Romero, Ren-Avielle Romero, and her baby boy, Xochitl Romero-Lujan; all those who will never forget the love she poured into their lives.

Rosary service will be Monday March 10th, 2025 at 5:30pm at Montgomery-Stryker funeral home.

Funeral liturgy will be held Tuesday March 11th, 2025 at 10:00am at the St. Paul’s Newman Center.

For those who wish, her children chose flower colors purple, her favorite color, and white.

A memorial fund for her children has been set up at UNIWYO Credit Union at

 acct # 1010000064088.
