Dear Grandma, I wish you peace wherever you go. Your mind can no longer trick you nor hold you prisoner and your soul is free. We miss and love you more than words can say. --RIP Ruth Joy Atkison June 1938-July 2024-- 💚Shenna My grandma, most knew her by Joy, was like no other. She had a rough/tough life and outlived my grandpa by 37yrs. She is survived by her brother Charles Frisbie, her 3 children Dale Mayes, Paula Gregory, CJ Austin (Clara Atkison), 6 grandchildren, and 8 grandchildren. She was a great mechanic, baker, scrapper (lol, she stripped cars and other things for the scraps such as copper and sold that to make money), junk collector because she may need that one day lol, lived off of the land, creator, tinker, survivor, Jehovah Witness, teacher, and such a kind grandma and kind soul that helped people in her community in so many ways. I wish I could remember everything she taught me. For about 30yrs she didn't have running water nor a septic system. She hauled water from our house 10miles away or from her neighbors. She had an outhouse that she (or her and grandpa) built and dug a deep hole to put it over. Her home was a livingroom/dining room with a homemade fireplace, which was built between an old school white bus with a yellow stripe and an old school (possible an) aluminum camping trailer (like a tin can). The trailer had storage and a bedroom. The bus had a kitchen, 2 beds, closet/storage and a bathtub. It was the first tiny house I ever saw, it was awesome and I miss it! I hate that Alzheimer's Dementia took her from us, stole her mind and used it against her but on the other hand I am glad that she is free of it. I've missed you for too mnay years and will miss you forever. 😭🥺💔
