Robert Eugene Snow

Robert Eugene Snow

May 13, 1936 – January 22, 2025

Robert “Bob” Eugene Snow, a lifelong resident of Laramie, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born on May 13, 1936, Bob graduated from Laramie High School and went on to live a life filled with dedication and adventure. After high school, he spent time working at the Boswell Ranch. He wanted to continue working with horses after his first job caring for them for Zoe McClure, from the age of 9-18. They ran horses in the area now known as W Hill.

He proudly served in the United States Navy as a welder on submarines, before returning to Laramie to work alongside his father and Uncle at Snow Welding. He spent many days and some nights welding on the oil rigs around the Laramie area in the wild Wyoming weather. Eventually, Bob took over the family business, continuing its legacy with pride.

An avid outdoorsman, Bob found great joy in hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He was a founding member in the Alco Fishing Club and the Laramie Trap Club. In his younger years, he embraced Wyoming’s rugged spirit by riding broncs in rodeos, showcasing his adventurous nature and love for the outdoors.

On April 11, 1959, Bob married Alice Lowham. Together they built a loving family with 3 children, Mike, Brian and Kim. Sadly, Mike proceeded his father in death. Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice, his son Brian, daughter in-law Rhonda and daughter Kim. His grandkids, Hailey and Tyler Wilkinson were fortunate to have moved closer in the last several years to enjoy more time with him. His granddaughters, Brigitte and Kayci Snow are 2 more of his 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss him. Bob and his family were very grateful to the group of friends that helped get him out and about once he was no longer able to drive himself.

‍A Celebration of Life and Military Honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. on February 8, 2025, at the American Legion, Post 14 in Laramie to honor Bob’s memory and the lasting impact he had on those who knew him.

May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in his remarkable journey.

I will remember Bob from trapshooting days with my dad at Laramie Trap Club. Bob’s sister, Judy Snow, & my mother were good friends, so we shared that connection as well. Bob was a nice guy & fun to shoot with. My prayers are with you all.

Bob was a great storyteller, and it was always an honor to sit and listen to his tales of old Laramie, his childhood and his military days.

I would like to extend my sympathy on the passing of my cousin Bob Snow. My side of the Snow clan lived briefly with Uncle Wayne, Bob’s dad and Aunt Opal
during a remarkable event “the blizzard of 49”.
Bob and I worked together briefly at Snow Welding.
Hunting and fishing trips with our fathers was common.
May Bob Rest in Peace. My sympathies to Alice & Family.
