I was one of Bob’s Home Instead helpers. I loved him so much. He was the sweetest person. He cared about his family so much and was truly interested in other peoples lives. We had a great time watching the Crocodile Dundee movies! He loved his grand children so much. I’m so glad that I had a chance to meet Bob.
Thank you for your kind words, Laura. His entire family misses him dearly.
Dr. Bob was one of the best. His middle school history class taught me to love history and connecting it to the present, but his biggest gift was knowing his students and recognizing the moments when we needed humor, discipline, encouragement, and compassion. Still one of the best teachers I’ve ever had.
Dr Campbell had a profound influence on my life. He was not only an exceptional educator, he was the definition of humanity, integrity, character and compassion. I was a scholarship student at prep and didn’t have the easiest home life. He somehow sensed that and brought a sense of family and care into my school day. He always made the time to mentor and guide outside of the classroom. A true gem, he has shaped some of the best parts of who I am today. I hope he always knew how much positive impact he had on the lives he touched. Decades after the last time I saw or spoke to him he is still a positive force in my life. Sending his family my best during this time.
John, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Doc was the most memorable teacher in not only my life; but the lives of so many of his former students. Rest in peace.
A great neighbor and better friend.
Oh, I'm so sad to hear of Dr. Campbell's passing! He was an incredible teacher when I was a middle schooler learning history, and later, friend when I was a grieving adult. There is a huge cavern where he once was. What an incredible legacy he left in the lives of so many. I send my heartfelt condolences to his family. <3 <3 <3
Bob was one of the kindest souls.
Dr. Campbell was not just an incredibly kind and amazing educator, but also a true inspiration to all who knew him. I was so inspired by Dr. Campbell's kindness and wisdom that I am now a teacher, hoping one day to have a sliver of the impact on others as he showed me. Dr. Campbell was wisdom, light, humor, honor kindness, perseverance and all things good. He will be greatly missed. I am grateful that I was lucky enough to have learned from him and that we kept in touch over the years, as he always had so much to offer all who knew him. Blessings to his family and friends.
Dr. Campbell was truly loved by his students. He made me feel interested in the world as a kid, and has made me a better teacher as an adult. All my students owe him a debt even though they've never met him. May his memory be a blessing.
Bob Campbell changed my life. He recognized my love for social justice and for the social sciences and he supported me when I was a teenager in need of a path. He remained a friend throughout my whole life. He was also my father's dear friend. I can't speak highly enough about Bob Campbell. He was an ethical and compassionate human being who believed in empowering people. Rest in peace Bob.
Bob was an excellent teacher. Our kids loved him at Prep. I will always remember when my daughter Heather went to the National History Day in DC. I was freaking out since it was her first time away from home and at that distance. Bob and his wife came to our house to comfort me. He was so dedicated to those kids. Rest in peace Bob. May all the wonderful memories of you give your family peace and comfort.
So many of us loved Dr Campbell. We were so lucky to have him as a teacher.
Bob was so loved by all who were privileged to know him.
