Richard (Dick) C. Phillips, 85, of Laramie, WY, passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on July 6, 2024.
Dick was born on July 28, 1938, in Newcastle, WY. After graduating from Sheridan, WY, in 1956, Dick joined the Airforce and served our country honorably.
In 1962, Dick married the love of his life Kathy Paulson in Sheridan, WY, and had two daughters, Rochelle and Holly. Dick and Kathy were successful business owners, owning several gas stations and an auto repair/car parts store. After retirement, Dick enjoyed doing side jobs with his dump truck and skid steer, always a handyman.
Dick was one of the original members of the Laramie Trap Club, a strong supporter of the Wyoming Cowboys, loved snowmobiling and spending time at his cabin. Dick treasured his Wednesday poker parties and his morning coffee club with his buddies. Dick took great pleasure in telling stories of his childhood, raising his daughters, and memories of his grandchildren. Dick enjoyed nothing more than being with his family and friends and his sidekick, Millie.
Dick was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Eleanor, his three sisters, Wendy, Joanne, and Donna, and his loving wife Kathy. Dick is survived by his companion, Linda Craven; his two daughters and their spouses, Rochelle Phillips and Gary Schmid and Holly and Don Pedersen; his grandchildren Chelsie and Joe Mathews, Chris and Erica Pedersen, Heather Swallow, and Mychal Pedersen; and his seven great grandchildren, Taylor, Samantha, Jaxen, Miya, Cole, Tanner, and Madalynn.
To honor Dick’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service but a celebration of life at a later date. We invite you to celebrate Dick’s memory in your own ways, we know that he will be with us all in spirit.
