On August 12, 2024, Paul Miller Jr went on to meet the Lord after a yearlong battle of medical problems. Paul was a lifelong resident of Laramie, except when he served honorably in the Army in Vietnam during the TET offensive in 1967 and 1968. In 1975 he met his former wife, Cheryl Oliver, spending over 12 years together. They shared their love for the outdoors, the mountains and lakes, with many wonderful camping, hunting and fishing experiences in that time.
Paul was well known by so many in Laramie, driving his bright yellow truck, with his sidekick Kizzy, a Corgi. They were a pair, rarely one without the other.
Paul worked for Packers Cold Storage, Ivinson Memorial Hospital, and Monolith Cement, later Mountain Cement, until he retired in March of 2008, having been there for 22 years. Many lasting friendships were the result of those working years.
Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Madeline Miller. Paul also had 8 brothers and sisters, Leandro, Rose, Melva, Henry, Dorothy, May, Georgie, and Linda, who preceded him in death. His sister Barbara Sanchez, along with her husband Danny Sanchez, and a brother, Charles Miller, remain, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Barbara and Danny were devoted to Paul, being supportive of him in this last year when his health was failing. His former wife, Cheryl, spent the last 2 weeks of his life by his side, sharing the love that had always been between them.
Paul had dedicated himself to the Lord attending New Life Church. His constant companion, Kizzy, along with the Lord walked with him most mornings as the sun rose, calling their being together the 3 amigos.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Quadra Dangle. Luncheon to follow. 3905 Grays Gable Road, Laramie, WY.
Rest in peace, brother. I know you are in heaven because we spent our time in hell. Lots of memories working at Monolith Cement Plant. ~ Michael Koenig formerly of Laramie and Wheatland; fellow Vietnam Veteran and Friend
They say old flames never go out! We spent a lot of years being old friends. More than 50. I'd see ya cruising around in that yellow truck and my heart skipped a beat still. Rest in peace old friend!
When you spend time with my grandma I was little. I remember you took me to the lake and taught me how to skip rocks (and you let me cuss in private) I may have not known you well but, you meant a lot to my grandma. Rest easy Paul!
Susi and I were honored that you were the best man at our wedding. You were a good friend. May you rest in peace.
For all the good times, my brother. March on.
I met Paul shortly after moving to Laramie in 1971. Paul always had that smile going. We could go long periods of time without seeing each other and when we would, there was that smile and it was like we saw each other every day. I will always remember you Paul and our longtime friendship. Dave
