Patricia Ann (Tigges) Shader
Patricia Shader passed away at her home on February 23, 2018. She was born April 10, 1938 in Charles City, Iowa to Ernest Wadlin Tigges and Stella May Cross. She lived in many different locations in Iowa and Nebraska until WWII. During WWII she lived at the Amache Relocation Center near Granada, Colorado. After the war, her family moved to Windsor, Colorado to operate a dairy farm.
Patricia graduated from Windsor High School in 1956, and from Colorado State University with an Associate Degree in 1958.
On July 27, 1958 she married Leslie Shader in Fort Collins. She and Les enjoyed 56 years of marriage. In the initial years of their marriage they lived in Worland, Fort Collins, Laramie and Boulder. In 1968 they permanently moved to Laramie.
She is survived by her daughter Soni Huffman of Orange City Iowa and family (husband Tim and daughters Delenn and Sharon); son Bryan Shader of Laramie and family (wife Chanyoung and daughter Sarah); brothers and sisters-in-law Phillip and Barb Tigges of Windsor and Leland and Ruth Tigges of Albuquerque; sister Amy Neal of Russel Kansas; in-laws Keith and Barb Shader of Fort Collins and Vera Shader of Golden; and many nieces and nephews and their families. She is preceded in passing by her parents, her husband Les, and her son Ron Shader.
Pat’s passions were her faith, family, and gardening. For many years in the 70s she served Grace Baptist Church by arranging the delivery of cards and flowers for members who were ill or suffering a loss. She was very proud of her granddaughters and always ready to talk about them to anyone (willing or unwilling to listen!). Gardening consumed many of her days, be it searching through magazines for just the right tulip bulbs, persuading Les that a particular (usually heavy) rock or stump would look great in their garden, or providing shoots, seeds or small trees to hook others on gardening.
A memorial will be held in the summer, when the flowers are in full bloom, and her grand-daughters can attend.
Les and Bryan, So sorry to hear about your lost. Patricia and I have you in our prayers. Terry and Patricia Shearin
