Nora Hyde passed away at age 11 in her home on the morning of May 2nd, 2024. Nora’s death was the result of Sanfilippo Syndrome – a rare, neurodegenerative genetic disorder. Nora was born to parents Jaclyn and Braeden Hyde on June 7, 2012. She was a happy child full of mischief and enthusiasm. She dearly loved her family and is survived by her parents, her brothers Tanner(20), Spencer(16), and Colter(9), and her sisters Audralyn(17) and Laurel(14).
Nora loved animals, especially her dog and horses. She was fascinated by elephants and loved to mimic the trumpeting sound they made. She loved all things food, but especially ice cream. Nora loved watching animated movies and spent many hours singing along with any Disney Princess music or laughing at the sloth in “The Croods”. Her nickname was “Little Miss Sassy-Pants” because she made sure everyone knew she had an opinion.
As Nora grew and her condition worsened, she was loved and cared for by an abundance of people including family, teachers and school officials, church members, medical professionals, and friends. Her life will be a persistent influence for good and we will remember the lessons of joy and love she taught us.
We invite all who knew her to join us at a celebration of her life from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday May 14th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on the corner of 15th and Baker Street. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cure Sanfilippo Foundation.
I was a few years older than Nora, but I would see her at recess every day and I will always remember how happy she always was. She had such a wholesome fascination with my different hats and that always brought me so much joy. She was one of the most amazing people I have ever met because she showed others how to be happy. She may be gone now but her impact will never be forgotten. Thank you Nora for being a bright spot in everyone's day. - Radley Kopp
She was an amazingly strong soul with a huge spirit. I am confident that you will be reunited in heaven and until then I pray for peace of mind and heart. I know the strength and depth of your love for one another and am grateful that you have that blessing.
