Margaret Elizabeth “Margot” Birkholz

Margaret Elizabeth Birkholz (Margot) was born November 17, 1939 in Ottawa Canada.  Margot moved to Laramie Wyoming in 1974 after marrying Paul Birkholz. Along with Paul came four stepchildren for Margot: Doug, Dave, Dan and Denise Birkholz.

To assimilate with this rural community and Laramie’s notorious winters Margo became very involved with the Albany County Cowbells and the Albany County Library.  Both organizations were very close to her heart, and she made many lifelong friends.  Laramie truly did become Margot’s home.

Our deep gratitude is owed to her Laramie friends, Donna Aguilar and Beth Sanchez, for supporting her during her life and final illness, and many thanks to the Minister of Trinity Lutheran Church and the staff of Laramie Hospice for enabling her to enjoy her last days with dignity.

Margot was predeceased by her husband, Paul Birkholz, stepson Dan Birkholz, her parents Margaret Rosalie Kilduff and Leo Patrick Clarkin, siblings Richard, Patrick and Frances Little.

She is survived by sister, Rosalie Reynolds, brothers John (Shirley), George (Elsa), patrick’s widow Kathy and her stepchildren, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on August 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please made donations to the Albany County Library or Laramie Animal Shelter where Margot’s favorite companion Dell (aka “best escape artist”) spent many afternoons waiting for Margot to bail her out.

I knew Margot for many years, she was such a pleasure to visit with and a friend. She was highly thought of in the Cattlewomen's organization. She was also a member of my Curves for Women, fitness group. We had many laughs and good conversations. My sincere condolences to all family members. Jenelle
