Margaret Burns Page, 90, passed away on Monday, July 4 with dignity and grace at her home on the ranch with her children by her side.
She was born in Laramie to Bob and Agnes (Millar) Burns on January 9, 1926.
At the age of 18 she married the love of her life, Thomas H. Page. After World War II, they went to live on the 3 Bar Ranch with a three-month old son and a Jersey milkcow. The ranch was her only home for 72 years.
Margaret was the first President of the Albany County Cowbelles and a member of the Wyoming Stockgrowers Association. She and Tom were 4-H leaders and FFA supporters.
She was active with the Kappa Kappa Gamma at the University of Wyoming for 65 years.
In 1972, she went to town to become the head financial secretary for the Albany County School District #1. She was elected to the school board and thoroughly supported all rural schools in Albany County and Wyoming. Valley View in the Little Laramie River Valley was her pride and joy.
She was Ranch Woman of the Year for Albany County in 1994. The hayfields of the 3 Bar and Page Angus were her favorite summer chore. Her 4-wheeler took her to check cows anywhere on the ranch.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson.
Margaret is survived by her four children, Steve (Sharon) Page of Rawlins, Christie (Raymond) Hall of Cheyenne, Thomas L. (Barb) Page of Laramie and Katie (Ken) Moore of Casper. She will be forever missed by 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Agnes Rainwater and Eleanor Higgins and niece Debbie Alworth and several other nieces and nephews.
Margaret’s many, many friends know what a dedicated, generous, kind, thoughtful, hard-working, and accomplished woman she was. She will never be forgotten.
Join the family for a celebration of life at the Albany County Fairgrounds, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7 with Reverend Rhett Ivey officiating. The honorary pallbearers will be all of Margaret’s grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Albany County Cattlewomen’s Scholarship Fund (P.O. Box 582 Laramie, Wyoming 82073).
To all the Page and Hall families, With sadness we have learned of the passing of your mother. May your memories help you through the coming days.

Page Family, Omicron advisor.Margaret was a very special lady that I knew because of her very close friendship with my mother (Colleen Manfull Osborn) and Kappa Kappa Gamma-Gamma Omicron advisor. She gave many hours to our chapter and the fraternity. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers to your family for peace in the loss of a very great lady. Ann Osborn Chopich
Steve, Tom, Katie, Chris, we are so very sorry to hear about the passing of your sweet mother. She was a wonderful lady and defiantly one of a kind. Our thoughts are with you and your families.
Although the only members of the Page family that I personally know are Chris & Raymond, it is my understanding that the Page family has lost 2 of their family members in a very short time, so I'd like to extend my sincere condolences to all of the Page family.
To all the Page Family: I have known Margaret for many years. First, she was on the School Board for Valley View School back in the 70's when I was hired to teach music there one day a week, along with regular teacher Edith Clymer. Later I served for many years on the Albany County School Board with Margaret and admired her devotion to our school system. She was a great lady, a good friend, and I miss seeing her at the grocery store, loading up with food for the ranch crew! You should all be proud to be part of her family. Mary M. Burman.
