Larry W. Stibitz, born August 23, 1944, in Portland, Oregon, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on September 22, 2024, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Larry met the love of his life, MaryAnn, at the Max Café in Rock River, Wyoming. Larry and MaryAnn married on June 20th, 1964. Together they had four children: LaRae, Lisa, Larry, and Ray. Larry graduated in the first class of WyoTech students in 1966. After working for a year, Larry embarked on a great journey and opened Laramie Machine Shop, which was in business until his retirement, 52 years later. Larry was blessed with 9 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, with one on the way.
As a devoted family man, he worked harder than most, and loved even harder. He wasn’t a man of many words, but the words he spoke always carried meaning and kindness; from offering advice, to telling his grandchildren “be safe” at every goodbye. Larry’s true passion was hunting and fishing, which is exactly where you would find him at every opportunity he had. Larry’s passion for the outdoors was passed to his children and grandchildren by integrating them in all of his hunting and fishing adventures. He loved all children, and his eyes lit up every time he was surrounded by his grandkids. Over the years, Larry became an adopted papa to many of MaryAnn’s daycare children, who lovingly referred to him as “Papa Larry”. Larry was an avid Broncos fan, and the day he passed on the Broncos finally won. Larry’s memory will continue on in all of his loved ones, remembering the best times as we hunt, fish, and cheer on the Broncos for him.
Larry is preceded in death by his Grandfather; Grandmother, Dollie Williams; Father, Richard Barnhill; Mother, Lulu Lorainne Kight; Stepfather, Westley Kight; Brothers, Leon Kight and Westley Kight; Brother-in-Law Benito Sandoval; Father-in-Law Valintine Sandoval; and numerous other family members.
Larry is survived by his wife MaryAnn Stibitz; Daughters: LaRae Stibitz (Aaron Sullivan), Lisa Seckinger (Karl Seckinger); Sons: Larry Stibitz (Jenny Loveridge), Ray Stibitz (Korinne Stibitz); Sister-in-Law, Delores Sandoval; Mother-in-Law, Aselia Sandoval; Grandchildren: Lisa Cardona (Jeff Cardona), Keileigh Yeend (Shane Yeend), Jordan Lemus (Sergio Lemus), Rachel McConnel (Drew Mahoney), Lindsey Stibitz, Paige Stibitz, Stephen Cameron (Kimberly Cameron), Josh McConnel (Mika Moriwaki), and Brandon Stibitz; adopted “granddaughter” Sarah Anderson; Sister Linda Colvin (Bill Colvin), Uncles: Don Williams, and Jim Williams, and numerous other family members.
A service will be held Friday, October 4th at 11am at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home, with a reception to follow at the Lincoln Community Center. Floral donations can be sent to Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home- 2133 Rainbow Ave, Laramie, WY.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. May all your memories keep you comforted in this difficult time.
It's hard to write an obituary and include absolutely everything. As his granddaughter, I think my cousin did a beautiful job writing this. Those close and important to him know "the whole life not even mentioned" and remain a steadfast support to the love of his life. Remember we are grieving a huge loss and condolences are much more appreciated over criticism.
Blessings and Love MaryAnn to you and your family. Hugs, Connie Griffith Morgan
