Kathleen C. Burke, 81, of Laramie, passed away at home on April 10, 2024, with her loving husband of 52 years, Phil, by her side.
Kathleen was born on December 22, 1942, in Omaha, NE, to Giles and Constance (Wolfson) Case. She attended Omaha Central High School and graduated with the class of 1966. She then entered the workforce as an administrative secretary for Thompson-Dreesen, and Dorner in Omaha. Following that, she worked in the same capacity for a cutting-edge informational technology company, Unisys, for many years until her retirement.
Kathleen met Philip Burke in 1970, and the two were united in marriage in 1972. They loved visiting Wyoming to fish and enjoy the fresh mountain air frequently. The couple lived in Omaha until 1994, when Phil took an early retirement from land surveying in Omaha, and they moved to Laramie to enjoy their retirement years in the state they so thoroughly enjoyed visiting. (Even though Phil obtained another job working in the forestry unit.)
She loved to fly fish, and Phil was her favorite partner. Kathleen enjoyed the mountains and the natural beauty that Wyoming has to offer. She loved her Husker football team and was a loyal and avid fan throughout her lifetime, and of course a Cowboys fan when the couple relocated. She enjoyed her time in the garden, caring for her plants. Kathleen was also a member of the St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church and will be remembered fondly in the hearts of all who knew her.
Preceding Kathleen in death were her Parents Giles and Constance Case, and 2 sisters Eileen Greer and Billie Connor.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Phil, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been chosen. Funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church with Father Gary Ruzicka officiating. There will be no interment of ashes following services. Online Condolences may be left for the family at www.montgomerystryker.com.
