Joshua Scott Sherwood, 22, of Cheyenne died Wednesday January 13, 2016 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins, CO. He was born June 6, 1993 in Glendale, AZ the son of Liam R. and Audra (Woodall) Sherwood.
Joshua was faced with medical challenges nearly his entire life, and will be most remembered as a young man with unlimited potential and unquenchable exuberance. He was very determined and approached all tasks, obstacles and challenges with total commitment. He had a keen sense of humor and was quick to “get on in” on you. Despite his medical setbacks he possessed the aptitude to be a very prominent physician and to follow in his mentor’s footsteps as a Gastroenterologist. His passions include helping others, love of his family and his newest addition, Winston Churchill, his service dog. Joshua was a world traveler and loved spending time with his cousins and Uncle Douglas, whom he talked about often. Many will remember Joshua for his love of hockey and learning. In 2004 he suffered a severe hockey accident which left him unable to attend junior or senior high school, but despite the odds he earned his GED, attended Laramie Community College in Cheyenne, transferring to the University of Wyoming where he was a physiology major/premed.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George R. Woodall and Peter Sherwood; his grandmother Kathleen Sherwood along with great uncles, aunts and cousins.
