Jennifer Rupe Cromer (née Jennifer Lee Rupe) passed away Friday evening March 26, 2021. She was 64 years old.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her beloved sister Lynn Rupe.
She is survived by her daughter Claire Ingles Fairley Moloney, her son in law Timothy Moloney, and her grandchildren Cecilia Moloney, James Silas Moloney, and Sage Moloney, of Laramie, Wyoming.
Jennifer was born in Dearborn, Michigan on July 26, 1956. She grew up in Michigan and developed a love of the outdoors on the shores of Lake Superior. She earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Michigan State University and moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where she resided for 30 years, and was a devoted stay at home mom for her daughter. Later in life, she resided in Atlanta, Georgia, Fountain Hills, Arizona, and Laramie, Wyoming.
Jennifer worked for the Yellow Pages as a salesperson in the early 1980s. She later served as a program coordinator for Birmingham Botanical Gardens in the 1990s. She was passionate about environmental justice, conservation, and wildlife. She had an affinity for animals of all kinds.
Full of love and care, with a playful sense of humor and an adventurous spirit, she liked to bend the rules and looked for the fun side of everything. She was a delightful mother and grandmother, a fountain of provision for her children and grandchildren. She was always ready to mend a pair of ripped jeans, turn old T-shirts into a quilt, paint a watercolor with her grandchildren, or craft a decoration out of felt. Her version of Gramma’s chicken soup was surpassingly excellent and much beloved. She will be dearly missed.
Special thanks to the wonderful people with Hospice of Laramie for all their care and support.
The family would appreciate that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Jennifer’s memory, be made to some of her favorite charities. These include the Cahaba River Society (https://cahabariversociety.org/), the Alabama Wildlife Center (https://alabamawildlifecenter.org/), Black Warrior Riverkeeper (https://blackwarriorriver.org/), and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (https://www.pancan.org/).
A memorial service in celebration of her life is planned at the United Presbyterian Church, 215 S 11th St, Laramie, WY, April 8th at 5 P.M. The service will be livestreamed for all who would like to participate remotely. Please follow the livestream links at https://upclaramie.org.
