Jeffrey “Jeff” Eugene Keahey

Jeffrey “Jeff” Eugene Keahey passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 02, 2024 in Laramie, Wyoming from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was born to Barbra (Campbell) and Robert Keahey on April 10, 1958 in San Fernando, California. He was raised in Sheridan, Wyoming and graduated from Sheridan high school in 1976 where he excelled in track and gymnastics. Jeff married Carol Price on February 9, 1980. He worked for Bighorn Beverage for 10 years before moving to pursue his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming and working as a Senior Cultural Resource Specialist for the Wyoming State Historical Preservation Office.

He is survived by his wife Carol Keahey, son Adam (Paige) Keahey, daughter Courtney (Joe) Keahey, daughter Gretchen (Dave) Rogers and 8 grandchildren David, Beatrix, Max, Owen, Holly, Mia, Jack and Noah. Jeff is also survived by his mother Barbra Riedler, brothers Eric and Greg Keahey of Sun City, Arizona; his aunts Linda Bradley of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Donna Bates of Pearcy Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Keahey and brother Robert Andrew Keahey.

Jeff enjoyed life and was an avid hunter and fly fisherman and loved hiking, camping, and traveling. He loved to teach and coach little league baseball with his children and participated in local baseball and softball teams. He will always be remembered for his humor, intelligence and commitment to family and friends. He left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. 

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held this summer in Sheridan, Wyoming. This gathering will provide an opportunity to come together and share stories and commemorate the impact he had on their lives. In leu of flowers the family asks that you donate to Hospice of Laramie.

    Jeff was a great dad. He would brighten my day in Half Acre with his cheery smile. He loved to be in the gym working out. He was the biggest cheerleader for his kids at their sporting events. Sorry for your loss Carol and family. Mrs. Kmetz
