In the glory of a winter night, Jared J. Frausto died of natural causes. He was 38 years old.
On March 23, 1977 Richard and Teresa Frausto awoke to a typical Laramie day, where the cold clean air would bite your cheeks, wisps of smoke trailing behind cars, the brilliant sun rising high in a perfect cloudless baby blue sky. Jared arrived, a daring newcomer, to this growing family with a huge barrel chest, big enough to hold his generous heart.
Jared graduated from Laramie Senior High School in 1995. Following in the footsteps of his father, Jared enlisted with the United States Navy in September 1996. Jared was a member of the Fireman Engineering Core on the USS Abraham Lincoln fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter. The physical demands of responding to emergencies, putting out fires, and quick decision making appealed to Jared in a most profound way. Charming and handsome, of course Jared came home with a bride and after his discharge settled in Laramie. Jared continued his firefighter dream joining the Centennial Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Unfortunately in 2002 Jared had a near fatal experience with acute pancreatitis. This would forever derail his firefighting dream and permanently alter his health. Fortunately he never gave up protecting people. Jared was known to advocate the downtrodden, accompany the lonely and broken hearted, feed the hungry, and most especially make us laugh. Jared never failed to fill a room with smiles and laughter with his perfectly timed one-liners, tall tales, jokes, and jests.
Jared grew our family first with the deep and meaningful friendships he was known to forge, then in late 2002 Jared started his family. Gifting to the world 3 beautiful children, Talia, Antonio and Téa. All are accomplished students, talented athletes and have a deep relationship with Jesus Christ. Each precious child continues Jared’s legacy of kindness and generosity.
When Jared was at the top of his game he was charismatic, and motivational. Skills he used while living, working and receiving treatment with homeless and recovering military veterans. Jared thrived when he could work and volunteer, especially with veterans. He devoted time to the VA Hospital in Cheyenne, WY and in Fort Collins, CO at the Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Catholic Charities. Jared had a brief respite from his illness and spent a dream like summer in the Centennial Valley. He was vivacious and sparkling, tucked away in the Snowy Range mountains. But that too, was brief and interrupted.
In this holy season of Advent, in the dark quiet hours, alone and praying his rosary God called Jared to begin his final journey to everlasting life. Jared was found on December 12, 2015 holding his rosary with his bible open next to him.
Jared is survived by his parents, Richard and Teresa Frausto of Laramie, WY. His children Talia, Antonio and Téa Frausto all of Cheyenne, WY. His siblings Elisa Frausto Crater of Laramie, WY, Daniel R. Frausto of Newport Beach, OR, Jonthomas J. Frausto and Dominic F. Frausto of Laramie, WY.

The support of family and friends will be needed at the vigil and rosary service to be held at 5:30 P.M. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church.
