Janey Hampton, 70, of Laramie, passed away on March 29, 2023 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. She was born July 7, 1952.
Funeral Liturgy will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church. Inurment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
Over the course of my life, I have never met anyone like Janey Hampton. Her generosity and kindness covered heaven and earth. Her love for dogs, all dogs, was infinite. No person was a stranger in her eyes. I will never know another like her.
Dear John, we are so sorry for your loss, Janey was always such a loving, caring person. She would stop in to visit with us at the store and we had so many heartwarming conversations, it was always a pleasure to see her smiling face. Janey never complained and was always so concerned about how we were and how our business was doing. Janey was such a dear, true friend that, will be missed by everyone, we know she was greeted in Heaven with open arms and surrounded with loved ones. John you are and will always be in our prayers. Janey was an angel on earth, the most caring, loving human. Always caring for everyone. The Gates of Heaven were wide open for her and she is flying with the angels now.
Dear John, we are so sorry to lean about Janey's death. Carmen and I both enjoyed knowing her and she left a wonderful legacy of kindness and public service in Laramie and specifically in the Catholic community. She will be missed greatly. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
Janey was such a dear friend, for 30 years she was my friend and she still is a friend in my eyes 51 years later. I grieved the loss of her friendship 22 years ago…. But I now grieve the loss of her life. I am so sorry John to learn of Janey’s passing. I was so hoping that someday our paths might cross again and knowing she was a Christian, hoping and praying that she would forgive me for that stupid email thing 22 years ago. There hasn’t been one year since (many times a year, every time I was in Laramie) that she has not been in my thoughts and prayers. I will always remember her, your wedding up in the mountains outside of Laramie, and so much more. I still have her precious wedding gift of her famous cross-stitch artwork which I treasure, and most of all the treasure of our friendship. Although we were not in touch, I pray she is at peace and I thank God that our lives touched. May God be with her and you also John.

Janeys impact on this world was something to behold. Janeys kind, thoughtful, giving ways will forever be with me and be something I aspire to be. We bonded over our love for dogs and grew into fast friends. She loved Kiwi and Zeeke and many dogs before them with all her heart. I will deeply miss my friend but will never forget what an amazing person she was.

Janey was one of the sweetest and most thoughtful humans I’ve ever met. My sincere condolences go out to all of those who’s lives she brightened just being herself. May she rest in peace.
