James Patrick “Jimmy” Johnson departed this life to be with our Lord on March 31st, 2025.
Jimmy was born January 26th, 2009, in Dillon, Montana, to Douglas Johnson and Julie (Cole) Johnson-Doyle. He was a child of the outdoors and a true “Wyoming boy”. He loved the mountains and plains, fishing, hunting, camping, shooting sports and anything else that took him outside. His happiest moments in this life were spent picking on his sisters and fishing with his friends. He was involved in his local 4-H and FFA programs from the earliest ages possible; and the last few years had discovered a love and passion for wrestling.
Jimmy is survived by his father, Doug; his mother, Julie, and her husband, Kyle Doyle; his sisters Emma and Kylie; grandparents Ken & Susan Cole (Monte Rio, CA) and Kathleen Gallagher (Laramie); step-great-grandmother Marianne Kallhoff (Sidney, NE); step-grandparents Mark & Lynette Doyle (Laramie) and Dave & Teri Petersen (Sidney, NE); Uncle Alan & Aunt Salli Johnson (Laramie), and Uncle Ken Cole (Windsor, CA); cousins Dalton Johnson, Cooper (Rachel) Johnson, and Giana Cole; countless extended and step-family members, and so many friends. He also leaves behind his two favorite dog-buddies, Goose and Murphy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ken & Linda Johnson of Laramie.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Albany County Fairgrounds. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jimmy’s name to the “Jimmy Johnson Memorial Fund” c/o StagePoint Federal Credit Union; Albany County 4-H (307-721-2571); or to the Snowy Range FFA Chapter (307-640-3579).

Julie and family;
I am so sorry for your loss. Julie, I can’t imagine the pain your momma heart is feeling right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope that you can feel the love and support from friends and family, as well as the community that know you and know Jimmy, and you can find a bit of comfort knowing how much Jimmy was loved. I remember his little cowboy pictures you’d show at work. He is so very precious and always will be. Please, if you need anything, reach out, as mommas it’s good to have an army behind us.

As our 4-h community is shattered by the loss of Jimmy, Your Family has been our Family since your babies were born, enjoying what the 4-h can do for the kiddos and parents. I pray that your Family finds some peace in knowing you gave Jimmy a great life and lots of love and lots of wonderful memories. I will miss his smile and kindness and respect, may he rest in peace!

No words can make any of you feel better. This tragedy has hit home for many people in our community. We may have not been close but when I moved here your kiddos were the first ones who welcomed my daughter to Laramie. With your family being my brothers neighbors I will never forget how respectful and welcoming your kiddos were to my daughter. My heart goes out to your whole entire family. To the whole LHS community who knew and loved this young man. I pray for your healing your strength. I pray for Julie, Kyle and Doug at least keep the strength to keep moving forward and be strong for their other children. But most of all I pray for Emma. I ask ourLord to wrap his arms around her. Give her a friend she can vent to. Help her conquer this emotional tragedy. Help her enjoy her accomplishments she’s achieved even when she don’t feel like celebrating. Amen.
One love
From my family to yours

My heart aches for you all- all family and friends even acquaintances. Am praying very often for God to comfort and give strength to walk through this. So many people grieving this young man and so many have personal stories that are too similar. We do not understand on this side but trust the God who knows. Although we are strangers I cry with and pray for you.
