George F. Darling was born May 14, 1929 in Wausau, WI to parents R. Edward Darling and Margaret (Ader) Darling. He went to school in Fairchild, WI, where he graduated from high school with the class of 1948. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. He worked for the Forest Protection Division of the Conservation Department in Black River Falls, WI and later for the John Deere Co. in Waterloo, Iowa.
He married Pauline Baures and they had four children: Dean Darling (deceased) (Kelly) of Hyattville, WY, Mark Darling (Weiling) of Eaton, CO, Margaret Nip (Winston) Ho of Pearl City, HI, and Hugh Darling (Terri) of Yuma, AZ.
He was a self-employed welder for several oil companies in Wyoming for many years. Later purchasing an auto parts store in Laramie. He also drove for Yellow Transport before retiring in Laramie.
He is pre-deceased by his parents; half-brother, Martin; son Dean; and grandson, Travis.
Survivors include his wife, Marian, of 31 years in Laramie, WY; brother, Robert E. (Janet) of Eau Claire, WI; and his children, Mark, Nip, and Hugh; as well as his step sons, Michael Dunn and James Dunn; seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren including several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at St. Paul’s Newman Center, 1800 E. Grand Avenue in Laramie, WY.

A true, Red, White and Blue American Army War Hero. It was an honor to grace his garage and work along side him. I will always be ridin' bird-dog with him. John Deere crusin' in Heaven!!! I will always cherish pump # 6 at the West Laramie Fly Store, the last place I saw him and his beautiful Wife. Long Live the ARMY!
