Gary J. McQuade

Gary Joseph McQuade, 77, of Laramie, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 4, 1943, in Laurel, Maryland to John and Lillian (Wilmer) McQuade.

Gary grew up in many places while his father served in the United States Army, which led him to his own service in the United States Air Force. He was in active duty from 1962-1966, originally stationed at F.E. Warren Airforce Base in Cheyenne. During his active duty he served in Guam where he was a bomb specialist.

He was married to Carrol Curtright from 1965-2020.

Gary began his business, Gary’s Plumbing & Heating in 1977, owning and operating for 35 years until his retirement in 2012, leaving his family to take over.

He was a member of the Laramie Moose Lodge, Elks Club, and American Legion. He also was a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, a member of the Mule Deer Foundation and Ducks Unlimited, as well as the NRA.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children, Dawn Vialpando (Jonji) and LaRamie Vialpando (Jimmy) of Laramie; his grandchildren, Anthony Vialpando (Lisa), Chris Vialpando, Shelbie Vialpando (Dalton), Ryan Vialpando (Ansley) of California, and Jayson Vialpando (Mariah) of Texas; and his great grandchildren, Dante Lopez-Vialpando, Nevaeh Vialpando, Vinny Vialpando, Tehya Vialpando-Swett, Cambrie Vialpando-Swett, Violet Vialpando, and Ivy Vialpando of California.

 A service for family and close friends will be at 11:30 Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home, others are welcome to join a small celebration of life reception at the Elks Lodge from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 23rd.
