Emily Ann Keller, born June 20, 1942 in , was a remarkable woman who spent an entire lifetime making a difference in the lives of others. It is with great sadness that we announce her passing. She was 81 years old and a longtime resident of Rock River, WY.
Emily dedicated her life to being a mother, grandmother and a great grandmother. As the compassionate woman she was, Emily fostered countless children through the years, giving them a loving and supportive home that allowed them to flourish. Emily birthed three children and adopted nine. She was an exceptional mother, always putting her children’s needs before her own. Emily’s family was her life, and she lived her life with an undying love for her children.
Emily was known for making the holidays special for her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would go above and beyond to ensure that every gathering was simply perfect. Emily loved to celebrate every occasion with love, laughter and of course, plenty of food. She made sure that her family experienced the holidays as they were meant to be enjoyed. Together.
In addition to her love for family, Emily had an immense passion for gardening and in her younger years, for travel. Her beautiful gardens were a reflection of her inner soul. Emily lived a fruitful life with tons of adventures. From Beckley, WV to her travels with Carnival Midway, to living in Germany, France and Louisville, KY, the first half of life was wild and free. The latter half of life saw Emily in Laramie, WY, raising livestock and building a home before settling in Rock River, WY. She rarely stayed idle.
Emily had a warm smile and a kind heart. Her love and compassion extended well beyond her family, and she was admired by anyone lucky enough to know her. Her favorite word was “sweetheart” and hearing those words will never be the same because they were her words.
As we mourn the loss of this amazing woman, let us remember the impact that she had on everyone that she encountered. Emily may be gone, but her love and legacy will live on forever. Rest in Peace, dear Emily.
Emily is survived by her children, William Keller, Veronica Keller, Kassie Kelly Hamilton (Eric), Bernard Keller, Russell Keller, Emily Keller, Jennifer Keller, Michael Keller, Sandy Keller, Dave Keller, Thomas Keller, Robert Keller, Karen Monopolous, along with her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

I am so saddened about the passing of Emily. She was one extremely special mother who sacrificed to put her children and their needs FIRST before hers. I first met Emily and some of her children at the Laramie Jr. High. Later, I had the privilege of having several of her children in my classroom at the Laramie High School. I kept in touch with Emily and her kids even during their brief move to Kentucky. They missed and appreciated Laramie/Rock River so much, they soon moved back to Laramie. I am grateful that she felt heard and supported as a family in Laramie and Rock River Schools. If someone who knows the kids reads this, please share my condolences and memories with the kids. Each one holds a unique and treasured spot in my heart. My sincere sympathy goes out to all the family as they navigate life without their mother. May God Bless each and every one of you ALWAYS! I was so blessed to know Emily. I got to know Emily about 25 years ago. She always saw the good and positive even when she was handed a lot. Rest in peace now Emily. I will miss seeing you here but I can only image what a beautiful Angel you are now. Prayers for all.
