Dorothy C. Soule`

Dorothy C. Soule`, 79, of Laramie died Sunday September 6, 2015 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital. She was born February 19, 1936 in Indianapolis, IL the daughter of Charles and Mamie (Souder) Dergitz. Being raised in Illinois she graduated for Barrington High School in 1954, the attended the University of Illinois graduating in 1958 with a degree in advertising and art. Dorothy then went to Korea with the United Service Organization for a couple of years before returning home, only to return to Hohenfoes, Germany with the 7th Army 7th Core Kelly Barracks in Steidgad, Germany for special services for Army Personnel. It was in Germany where she met Samuel Soule`, the love of her life, and they were married March 16, 1962. Upon their return to the states they settled in Spartanburg, GA before moving to Wyoming. When she first came to Laramie she worked for Safeway Stores. Later she went to work for the Laramie Boomerang as the retail advertising director for 32 years selling display advertising. She worked there from 1976 until May of 2000 when she retired. Later she worked some at Bart’s Flea Market for 4 years. She was very active in the Laramie community, volunteering at the Eppson Center, was active with the UW sports in the Quarterback Club, Cowboy Joe, Chamber of Commerce serving as an ambassador, Zonta, and Jaycees to name a few. She also did calligraphy for the athletic certificates at the Laramie High School. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by a brother William Carter of Greenwood, IN; her children Robert Soule` of Seagoville, TX; Anne Crocco of Arlington, TX; Chris Soule` of Brazil and Susan Soule` of Laramie, WY; ten grandchildren and a great grandchild. A celebration of her life will be held Friday September 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Knoll officiating. Memorials may be made to the Dorothy C. Soule` Art Scholarship Fund.
