Christopher Dale Mauk, 40, of Laramie, passed away in July of 2022. Christopher was born on December 26th, 1982, to Jerry and Rose Mauk in Laramie. He enjoyed all sports, but when it came to football, the Broncos were his team. Christopher met John Elway when he was young and even got a signed football from him. He loved to go Snowboarding and snowmobiling in the winter and enjoyed cleaning all the neighborhood sidewalks with his four-wheeler and plow. In the summer Christopher would love to go camping, fishing, hiking, ride his dirt bike or ride around in the 4 runner with his family and friends. He really enjoyed working on old cars with his dad, painting, and welding. Christopher had a 69’ Barracuda that he and his dad rebuilt; that car was his little hot rod. He enjoyed playing pool and competing in pool tournaments, coming in 3rd place. Christopher was also into gymnastics, rollerblading, riding go-karts, biking, making model lowrider cars and his lowrider bike. He was good at everything he did and could fix anything. He was an easy-going person and loved everyone, he loved to joke around and have fun. He was loved by all his family and friends.
After graduating in 2002, he got a welding scholarship at Casper College. He worked with his dad at Sagebrush as a diesel mechanic for a few years, after that he worked odd jobs. On July 4th, 2018, he lost his leg in a firework accident.
Christopher is preceded in death by Jimmy Mauk, Ricky Mauk, his grandfather James Mauk; cousin Zak Mauk, Jimmy Joe Mauk, and his grandparents Forbes and Glenus Cole.
He is survived by his parents Jerry Mauk of Tie Siding and Rose Mauk of Laramie; his sister Dana Rae Mauk (Oder); his nephews that he loved with all of his heart Chad and Breydin Oder; his great friend and brother in law Shawn Oder of Laramie; his aunts Ellen Mauk of Laramie and Dolly Mauk of Casper; aunt and uncle Becky and Wayne Mauk of Oklahoma; uncles David Mauk, Albert Haskins, and Steve Seacrest of Laramie; aunt and uncle Betty and Jack Faris of Rock River; aunt and uncle Linda and John Cay of Berthoud, Colorado.
A celebration of life will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at the Eagles Club in Laramie, and all are invited to attend. He will be cremated, and his remains will be buried at his father’s home in Tie Siding on July 4, 2024. May he rest in peace forever, amen.
