On June 6th 1961 a beautiful baby girl named Carrie Ann was born in Cheyenne Wyoming to Glenda Glee (Cook) and Carl Lewis Heil. She was the 2nd of 3 children. At a young age, she and her siblings along with their mother moved to Laramie, where she was raised and lived out the rest of her life.
Growing up, Carrie had a bit of a rebellious streak mixed with a little bit of stubborn, all the while having a heart of gold and a genuine love and caring for those around her along with a sarcastic sense of humor. Her love for animals was evident early on, with thoughts of someday becoming a veterinarian.
At the age of 15 Carrie started working part time as a housekeeper and stayed in that profession until her body was unable to continue in that line of work. In the meantime she was blessed with her own beautiful baby girl, Britney Pearl on March 3rd, 1986.
Carrie was a decades long member of the local Eagles organization, where she truly enjoyed the friends and relationships built there. She would always give more than she ever received back. She loved crafting, movies and of course animals of any kind… maybe because of the selfless love that they also gave? She looked forward to holidays with family, sharing her “off” sense of humor, and yearly visits from California cousins. However nothing brought her more joy than the arrival of her 1st grandchild Justin Jey “J.J.”, and handful of years later 2 more grandsons Merrik and Dominic.
Carrie passed away on February 10, 2025. Carrie is and will be truly missed by close friends and family that are survived by her: Her daughter Britney ( Jarron Linde) and 3 grandsons, of Laramie. Siblings Carlene Heil and Randy Heil of Cheyenne (nephews Trevor and Zach). Sister Brenda (Bernard) Rosaaen of Billings MT (nieces Janelle and Jamie, nephews Jared and Jacob). Along with “Cuzzie Rusty”, Rustin Bird and his wife Marisela (children Brandon and Brianna) of Laramie.
Carrie is preceded in death by her parents Glenda Bernard and Carl Heil, as well as “Aunt Toots” Gleada Bird.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00p.m. April 25th at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home.
