Brad Holland passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, Susie, and his daughters, Heidi and Megan, after having bravely battled ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) for nearly four years. Brad lived every moment of his 68 years with remarkable zest for life, facing each challenge with courage and resilience.
Brad was born in Laramie, Wyoming to Ralph and Liz Holland; he graduated from Laramie High School in 1975. Known for his love of the outdoors, he excelled at skiing, biking, fishing, hiking, rafting, kayaking, snowmobiling, and dirt biking. Brad never turned down the opportunity to participate in an adventure.
Brad was also a successful entrepreneur, he founded Holland Cleaners which was a staple of Laramie for decades. Additionally, Brad lifted the community by providing attainable housing through his numerous apartment buildings. His skills were endless; he could build, fix, or solve anything that came his way.
As a father, Brad was both fun and practical, teaching his daughters to be kind, self-sufficient and hard-working. Brad shared his love of the outdoors with his daughters by making sure every weekend was an adventure.
Brad and Susie shared a passion for travel and were fortunate to explore the world together. One of their most memorable trips was a biking through Holland to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. Susie and Brad enjoyed spending their free time together skiing and biking.
Brad’s favorite place was the family ranch in Jelm, Wyoming. He found the utmost joy teaching his grandchildren to cast a fishing line, ride the four-wheeler and ensuring a shared love for the land. Whether mending fences or maintaining the river’s health, he was always at peace at the ranch.
Brad is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Susie; his daughters, Heidi Holland (Sean Borris) and Megan Friderich (Ian); and his grandchildren, Ryne and Bess. He is also survived by his brother, Rod Holland (Alison); his sisters, Cynthia Holland (DuWayne Zuelsdorff) and Mary Holland (Blake Spellman); and his nieces and nephews, Lindsey Linkow (Matt), Brooke and Jack Linkow, Chris Holland (Millie Washington), and Kelly and Laurie Zuelsdorff.
A celebration of Brad’s life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 3:00p.m to 5:00p.m. at the Black Fox on Welsh, 1000 Welsh Lane, Laramie, Wyoming. Please join us with your best stories of Brad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Laramie in Brad’s honor.
