Bonnie Gail Hawks

Bonnie Gail Hawks, 84, of Laramie, Wyoming, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025

Born January 22, 1941, in Grass Valley, California, she grew up in the mountains of northern California until moving to Oregon in the late 1960s.  She loved Oregon and especially spending time on the beach.

When she did not have her toes in the sand, she enjoyed sewing and making clothes and quilts.  She was an avid collector of knick-knacks with a particular fondness for fairies.  She was a lover of animals but lived for the time spent with her family, often studying the genealogy of her family tree.

Later in life, she provided in-home care for the elderly and was an engaged member of the LDS church, serving in many different capacities.  In a true gypsy-like lifestyle, she loved the adventure and exploration of moving to new places.

Bonnie is survived by her son Roger (April) Hawks of Hanna, Wyoming and son-in-law Cameron West of Lafayette, Oregon; grandchildren Brittany (Jared) Lusko, Benjamin (Nerici) Hawks, Caleb (Alexandria) Hawks, Sunshyne (Jack) Joubert, Kelsey Hawks, Megan (Andrew) Arreola, Jeremy West, Ryan West and Shannon West; nine great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Joyce Jehorek; and daughter Ronda West.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hanna, Wyoming.

I am so sad that I will not be able to attend the services in person. Grandma-San, as I have always known her by, was always a delight to be around. Loving and generous. May she be reunited with her family in heaven.
