Berniece M. Mathewson, 88, of Loveland, formerly of Laramie, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Pathways Hospice Center in Loveland, CO. She was born in Bellvue, CO on April 6, 1930 to James and Hattie (nee Buckendorf) Jones.

She married Merle Mathewson on May 26, 1950

Berniece is preceded in death by her husband Merle Mathewson; her parents; her great granddaughter, Joelle Thompson; her brothers, Kenneth and Warren Jones; and her sisters, Doris Jones, Margaret Powell, Helen Gottbehuit, and Alice Anderson.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Patton and her husband George of Loveland, CO, and Sandra Valdez and her husband, Vince of Loveland, CO; her grandchildren, Alicia Thompson and her husband, Nate, Amanda Norton, Trevor Valdez, and Tiffney Woods; her great grandchildren, Brandt, Tennyson, and Benjamin Norton, Camille and Brogan Thompson, Rylan Woods, Anika Andrus, and Olivia Valdez. She is also survived by her brothers, Frances, Jim, Jack, Bill, Don, Dick, and Dave Jones, and their spouses and families; her sister, Faye Schofield and her family; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Moore, officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home.
