Anne Worthey

Anne was born in Independence, Missouri and graduated from Central High School in Kansas City. She attended Central Missouri State College for two years, and later earned a B.S. in Education from Kansas State College in Pittsburg.
She married Dick Smith in 1953, and they had three children. After divorcing much later, Anne married Will Worthey.
Anne taught elementary school in Midwest City, Oklahoma and in Casper, Wyoming. Upon retirement, she worked part-time at the Casper College Reading Lab, volunteered as an ESL tutor at Casper College and LCCC, and delivered meals for the Eppson Center. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Women’s Club, and Wyoming Retirees. Anne enjoyed reading, crafts, travel, birding, and being around children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, husband Will, and dear friends John and Julie McKay. She is survived by her daughters and stepchildren Carol Smith and Sandy (Craig) Thomas of Wyoming, Pat Smith (Richard Locke) of Michigan, Guy (Diane) and Tina Worthey, Sharon McKay, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please support your school and public libraries and/or read a book to a child.
Cremation has taken place, and services will be at a later date.
