Anna Elizabeth Thomas

On Monday, December 23, 2024, Anna Elisabeth Thomas passed away to be with our Lord at Davis Hospice in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Anna was born June 27, 1949, to Ottmar and Irma Lummel in Karlstadt, Germany. She was the second born of four children. At the age of 14 she attended high school and Berlitz Language School in Wuerzburg, Germany while she was employed and residing at the Buergerspital Home for the Elderly. At age 21 she met, Bruce Thomas, a soldier stationed in Wuerzburg’s Emery Barracks of the U.S. Army. They were married in Montana on September 30, 1972, where they lived for two years and welcomed their daughter, Heidi. They then moved to Laramie, Wyoming so Bruce could complete his schooling at the university and where they welcomed their son, Daniel. Anna worked at Country Kitchen, Creative Child Care (where she excelled at teaching children) before taking her final job as a bank teller at First National Bank from which she retired in 2014. After retirement, Anna enjoyed spending as much time as possible outside with her granddaughters, working in her garden, traveling, camping and fishing.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be sorely missed by all. As her time approached, her faith in God increased as evident in her last two journal entries: (11-16-24) Deut. 31:8 “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you, …never leave you, nor forsake you.” (11-28-24) I Chron. 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever.”

Anna is survived by her husband, Bruce Thomas; her daughter, Heidi Kirchhof of Denver, Colorado; her son, Daniel Thomas, his wife Rae, and their two daughters AnnaLynn and Daeya of Laramie, Wyoming; her sisters, Maria Schoenberger of Gambach, Germany and Erika Glaviana of Avondale, Louisiana; many nieces and nephews and numerous dear friends. She is home now, she suffered long enough and, in His mercy, the Father has called her home to be with Him in the Greater Glory. Until tomorrow, Nana…

Memorial Service will be held at Snowy Range Evangelical Free Church, 2552 N. 15th St. Laramie, Wyoming, Saturday the 18th of January, at 10 am with inurnment to follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
