William Ray Speechley, aged 75, passed away on July 27, 2024, in Laramie, WY. Born on July
21, 1949, in Denver, CO, William was a cherished member of his community and a master
automotive and diesel mechanic by profession. His passion for cars was evident to all who knew
him, and his expertise made him a respected figure in his field.
William was a devoted Christian, having committed his life to Christ in 1978. He was an active
member of the Snowy Range Baptist Church in Laramie, where he found a loving church family.
His faith was an integral part of his life, and he cherished his nightly routine of reading the Bible
and jotting down scriptures.
William’s humor, kindness, and devotion to his family were his defining traits. He took immense
pride in his daughters, Tammy Speechley and Nicole (Speechley) Clark, and adored his twin
grandsons, Jay and Ian Clark. His family circle also included his son-in-law Steve Clark, sister
Bonnie Zajac, nephew Jeff Zajac, friend Debbie Diehl, and stepchildren Jennifer (Carter)
Morgan, Adam Carter, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Helen Speechley; sister, Betty Speechley;
beloved grandmother, Nellie Zeman; uncles, Bill, Chuck, and Stan Zeman; nephew, Robert
Zajac; and brother-in-law, Roy Zajac.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Snowy
Range Baptist Church, located at 721 Hwy 230, Laramie, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations to assist with arrangements.
