Jean Lein, 88, of Laramie, WY, died unexpectedly on May 19th at home. She was the wife of the late Sy Lein. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Peggy Bradley. A devoted advocate for her children, Jean overcame obstacles to ensure their success. She embraced her son’s deafness, enrolling him in a deaf school far from home and mastering ASL to support him. After marrying Sy Lein, Jean blended their families, raising their combined five children in Nevada.  After their children grew up, Jean and Sy moved to Montana briefly before settling in Utah. There, they took in three of their grandchildren and raised them in Elk Mountain, Wyoming until their final years.

Underneath her tough and gritty exterior, was a heart of gold. She was truly one of a kind and faced life’s challenges head-on, refusing to be defined by adversity or health obstacles. Those who took the time to know her discovered a heart filled with love and loyalty. She had a passion for antiques, which took her on trips around the country with her soul sister, Jane Hunt to find the best treasures. Her deep-seated love for the military stemmed from her late husband’s years of service, leading her to actively participate in military reunions and events.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Sy Lein, her parents Harold Vaughn (Dad), Ira Bradley (Step Father), Gareldene West (Mother), brother Harold, and her son John Parker, whom she tragically lost at a few weeks old. She is survived by her brother, Ernie Bradley, five children and their spouses, as well as seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and countless extended family and friends. Jean’s family would like to extend a thank you to the LDS church, of which she was a member, for all the service and support they provided while her family wasn’t local.

A memorial service to honor Jean’s life will be held in Henderson, NV, at a later date.
