Kaitlyn Mable Ann Root, 32 of Laramie passed away September 21, 2023. She was born on August 27, 1991, to James and Angela (Miller) Root.

Kaityln grew up in Washington state and was a true-blue pacific northwest Seattle Seahawks fan; she really loved the Seattle area. She was a dedicated foster for many dogs and cats and had partnered up with the local Laramie Animal Welfare Society. She loved reading and was very well educated. Kaitlyn obtained her Ph. D in education between Washington and Ohio. She spent three years at the University of Wyoming lecturing and was very focused on education as well as an advocate for sociology, equal rights, and criminal justice.

Kaitlyn is preceded in death by her grandfather Elbert Miller, her grandparents Mable and George Miller and her great grandfather, Harry Cotton.

She is survived by her parents Jim and Angela Root; her grandmother Agnes Miller; her aunts and uncles Brian and Sharon Deuman, Jimmie Miller, Pattie Sawasky, Cindey Miller and Mar Mitchell as well as many cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Kaityln’s name to Laramie Animal Welfare Society.
