Charles “Chuck” LeRoy Stuckert

Charles “Chuck” LeRoy Stuckert joined the Lord peacefully on July 17, 2023, at home after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family.  Chuck was born in Wellington, CO on January 27, 1930, to Adam and Odelia (Dienes) Stuckert. A celebration of life with military honors will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Torrington, WY on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 10am. A reception will follow at the church.

Chuck attended school in Livermore, CO until 1939, when the family moved to Mitchell, NE. He attended Sunny Slope grade school. Chuck met his high school sweetheart, Myrna Lea Duncan, in 1945 and graduated from Liberty High School in 1948.

Chuck was drafted into the Army in August 1949. He served 23 months on the 38th Parallel. Serving his country during the Korean War, he received many honors and medals.  After being Honorably Discharged, Chuck married Myrna on September 6, 1951, in Morrill, NE.

Chuck was briefly employed with the Railroad in Iowa before returning to Morrill, where they welcomed their daughter, Lisa Kay and son, Robert “Bob” Lee. Chuck moved his young family to Henry, NE where he farmed with his father and brother.  They moved to Torrington, WY in 1963 where they remained until moving to Laramie, WY in August 2022 to be near their children. He was employed with Keeley Automotive and Wyoming Automotive/NAPA. Chuck later opened his own automotive electrical business until his retirement in 2010.

Chuck loved hunting for and collecting arrowheads and historic artifacts. They enjoyed many family camping trips around Wyoming and Nebraska. Retirement allowed Chuck and Myrna to travel around the US, seeing family and friends. He enjoyed taking walks around their neighborhood in Torrington and visiting with friends. Chuck loved to “talk shop” with anyone and was still helping and giving engine and wiring advice to the end. They always made their annual summer trip to Guernsey Reservoir for lunch and a ride in Bob’s boat. Chuck was a faithful member of the All-Saints Episcopal Church in Torrington and later, St Matthews Episcopal Church in Laramie.  Chuck and Myrna have been volunteering for Gracie’s Promise for several years.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Odelia, brother, Donald Stuckert, and grandson, Jacob Stuckert. He is survived by his wife Myrna, daughter Lisa Moore (Boulder Colorado), son Robert (Heather) (Laramie Wyoming); grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Moore (Atlanta Georgia), Cannon Stuckert (Granby Colorado), Jessica and Keegan Norelius (Laramie Wyoming); 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and his church family.

Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date in Morrill, NE.
