Pauline Elaine Magnussen, born January 13th, 1940, passed on to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 4th, 2023. She was predeceased by the love of her life Christian Emmanuel Magnussen. Being married 55 years, they learned to love and care for each other in the same way the Lord cares for each of us, patiently and unconditionally. The couple met while Pauline and Chris were attending a teaching conference. Immediately, Christian was drawn to Pauline and pursued having a conversation with her. Later on, they attended a first date and the rest is history.
Pauline was Christian’s primary caregiver through his battle with Alzheimer’s which exemplified her caring, and selfless nature. Prior to his diagnosis and throughout their time together; the couple enjoyed time together traveling, rock hunting, square dancing and attending University of Wyoming basketball games. In fact, even at her age, she seldom missed a game this past season of University of Wyoming women’s basketball. These qualities of selflessness and unwavering commitment remained strong through her life as she volunteered in organizations such as 4-H, Delta Kappa Gamma, and various activities that her husband and daughters participated in.
Pauline’s career path showed these remarkable traits as well. After graduating high school in Carpenter, Wyoming, Pauline chose to attend the University of Wyoming in Laramie to further her education. There she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. Soon after graduating with her degree, she started her teaching career in Albin, Wyoming. She taught in several locations and capacities throughout her career as a teacher but then transitioned to bookkeeping for various departments at the University of Wyoming before retiring.
When Pauline was not educating others, she brought joy to many through her gifts of baking and cake decorating. Though these talents did not make their way into a career, her creative spirit is one of the positive qualities that she leaves with many, including her daughters and granddaughters. Throughout Pauline and Christian’s marriage, they often traveled to craft shows and worked to sell their creations. Pauline was also an avid flower and plant enthusiast. Any chance she got, she was tending to her flowers, raspberry plants, and various house plants. Throughout her life, she was able to share her hobbies with those she loved and teach others how to enjoy them as well.
Pauline is survived by her sister Lois Amrein of Blackfoot, ID; her daughters, Peggy Wolfe of Scottsbluff, NE and Paula Snook of Weslaco, TX; step sons, Paul Magnussen of Tacoma, WA, Dan Magnussen of Santa Rosa, CA, and James Magnussen of Grand Prairie, TX; and her grandchildren Carissa and Candace Wolfe, Jonathan Snook, Amber Magnussen, Cecilia, Angelica, and Christina Magnussen.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Laramie, Wyoming followed by a lunch at the church. Burial will follow at Carpenter Cemetery in Carpenter, Wyoming.
