Jose Mario Morones was born April 30th, 1962 in San Julian, Jalisco, Mexico to Jesus and Antonia Morones. He passed away March 24th, 2023, at the age of 60 years old.
In the late 1970’s, Mario made his way to the states. After traveling the states he settled in Wyoming and worked as a sheep shearer for several years. Eventually he met his beautiful wife Monica Dawn Gonzales, and soon after, they married on May 6th, 1989 in Laramie. They raised four beautiful children together. In 1997 he started working for the Union Pacific Railroad, which he was loyal to for 24 years.
Throughout the years he had many hobbies he enjoyed that included hunting, fishing, camping, and 4-wheeling, and of course family vacations. He loved going to Mexican dances, playing pool and poker, but most of all, he loved watching his Denver Broncos.
As many of you know he was a very hard-working man and went above and beyond to support his family in any way he needed to. Throughout his hard-working life he was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer in late 2021. He fought a good battle for as long as he could. A fighter so strong who never gave up, but the day came, God called him home.
I will love you forever and always.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Morones; mother, Antonia Morones; brother, Javier Morones; and his grandparents. He is survived by the love of his life, Dawn Morones; his four beautiful children, Desiree (Gerardo), Andrea, Amanda, and his only son, Mario Morones. He is also survived by his five handsome grandsons, Antonio, Alejandro, Azaiah, Isaac, and Niko; his father, Jesus Morones; his siblings, Enrique (Christina), Sergio (Maria), Martin, Jesus (Angelica) Maria (Esaul), Joaquin (Stephanie), Isabel (Felipe), and Bertha (Ruben); mother-in-law, Marilyn (Panfilo) and father-in-law Edward; siblings-in-law, Paul, Stephen, Marc, Theresa, Eddie, and Richard Gonzales; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jeanie Ray Cancer Center, 255 N 30th St Laramie, WY 82072, Mario would really appreciate your contribution to go to them. The family would also like to thank MD Anderson Cancer Center of Houston, Texas for their care.
