Waldo O. Roller

Waldo O. Roller, 91, of Laramie, died February 6, 2022, at Hospice of Laramie. He was born May 3, 1930, in Loveland, Colorado to Omar L. and Geraldine Z. (Hagler) Roller.  After graduation from Loveland High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart.  Moving to Laramie shortly after discharge, Wally began his 40+-year career with the Union Pacific Railroad as a Brakeman.  He was later promoted to Conductor and eventually retired as an Engineer.

Waldo was married to Betty J. (Smith) Roller on December 27, 1955, in Hanna, Wyoming.  Together they raised two children and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005.  Through his favorite activities of hunting, fishing, and playing golf, Wally shared his great passion for the outdoors with his family and friends.  He also enjoyed watching football, baseball, and westerns on TV.  In his lifetime Wally was a member of Laramie Moose, Elks, and the Alco Gun and Rod Clubs.

Wally was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Roller; his parents; his siblings, EstherLee Jebens and Max E Roller.  He is survived by his children, Sandy Roller and Mark Roller.  Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
