Jacquelin Elizabeth St. Clair, 61, passed away at Ivinson Memorial Hospital on June 3, 2021, in Laramie, WY. She was born July 13, 1959, in Sheridan, WY to Donald “Jack” and Geraldine (Suttle) Beavers.
When Jacquelin was a child, they lived in Wyoming and South Dakota before settling in Laramie.
After High School Jacquelin moved to Tahlequah, OK where she met her former husband Eldon working at Tsa-la-gi. She was blessed with two children, Cody and Cammi. After they were born, the family moved back to Laramie where Jacquelin received a Bachelor of Arts. She then opened The School of Dance Arts where she taught ballet for over a decade.
In 1999, Jacquelin received her master’s degree in archeology. She had a love for history, culture, and knowledge in general. She worked for the National Park Services for 21 years. Jacquelin worked in the Tetons for ten years before moving to Santa Fe. A few years ago, she made the decision to transfer to Laramie to be closer to her parents, children, and grandchildren.
Jacquelin loved her family, especially her grandkids. Halloween was her favorite time of year, and she took great pride in making costumes for the grandkids. She was a great artist and loved to paint.
Jacquelin is survived by her parents; children Cody (Cyndi) St. Clair of Laramie and Cammi (Chris) Capps of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren Ayala and Anthony St. Clair and Colter Capps; siblings Becky Beavers of Cheyenne and Clint Beavers of Laramie; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and tons of friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Buck and Edna Beavers; maternal grandparents Orbie and Earl Suttle; uncles Father Carl Beavers and Dick Suttle; and cousins Gregg Holmes, Bret Beavers, and Brad Beavers.
Private family services will be held. A public Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m. June 19, 2021, at the UW Gateway Center . Those wishing to attend may contact the family at [email protected].
Jacquelin, I'm still processing you're passing. I wish you and your family so much peace and love. You were a wonderful colleague and friend. I will forever remember hiking with you to the peaks of the Rocky Mountains, and camping on the banks of the Green River. I keep looking at the photos I have of you in some of the best places in America. I miss the days we would go to lunch (wherever we wanted), and of course, your contagious laugh. Be at peace.
I am sure that the world lost and will miss a talented and creative person.
Cody & Cami, I am so sorry to hear about your loss of your mom. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by all. I first met Jackie at the Plains Conference when she was still was still a student. She received the Native American Scholarship at that meeting. Later on I enjoyed working with her when she was at Grand Teton and I was at Yellowstone. We met at J.D. Rockefeller Parkway for lunch and talk. It was always pleasurable when we met at meetings and again there was more talking. Jackie was a good archaeologist who cared about the resource.
My sincere condolences to the family. I knew Jackie in college, and I had the pleasure ama honor to teach her granddaughter at the lab school. All my love to you all.
I will always remember your kind and witty nature, your creativity and our laughter together, especially on our road trips to Lisa's SW Colorado property. You were an amazing "partner in crime" when it came to having fun and hanging with friends. The memories will never fade for me and I will miss you dearly, my friend!
