Everett Dee Johnson, 85, of Cowdrey, CO died Friday, October 9, 2020 at his son’s home in Laramie.
He was born December 21, 1934 in Longmont, CO to Virgil and Vivian Johnson. He was raised in Longmont until the family moved to North Park, Rand, CO to work on the Chedsey Ranch.
He grew up riding his horse several miles to school, where he met and later married Della M. Daugherty, who also rode her horse to school from Burr Lane, the Case Ranch.
Everett and Della had two children, Erwin Lee and Delbert Lyle Johnson.
He later went to work for Johnson Timber, a sawmill in Walden, CO. He bought a log truck and hauled logs, then went to Langendorf Wood Products and then eventually to Louisiana Pacific as a saw filer, where he filed and hammered 24” to 48” saws to be true for sawing.
Everett and Della later divorced. He met Debbie Smith and spent several years together in Cowdrey, until her passing in 2017.
He is survived by his two sons and their wives; Lee and Linda Johnson, Delbert and Mary Johnson; his grandkids, Cody Johnson, Patrina, Mistina and Dustin Johnson; several great grandchildren; his youngest brother, Danny Johnson and his wife, Vickie; several nieces and nephews; and cousins.
Everett loved the outdoors and helping people. He was loved by all.
Cremation has taken place.
