Ben Kennedy, 40, of Elk Mountain, WY, joined our father in heaven on April 17,2017 in Laramie, WY. He was surrounded by family.
Ben was born in Laramie, WY on February 15,1977 to Joy (Stewart) Kennedy and Boog Kennedy. Ben attended school in Elk Mountain and graduated from H.E.M. High School in 1995. He then attended Casper College, earning degrees in welding and diesel mechanics. He was frequently on the Dean’s and President’s Honor rolls.
While attending Casper College he met the love of his life and best friend, Erin. They were married in Douglas, WY and have been blessed with two boys, Taylor and Chase.
He worked at North Antelope Peabody Coal for 16 years. They fulfilled their dream of building their home and raising their boys on the family ranch. Ben enjoyed hunting with his boys and friends, carrying on the family tradition of shooting sports and sharing his love of wrestling with not only his boys, but the community youth as well. He was a best friend to many and was well known for his pranks and his sense of humor. He made everything fun. He will be remembered as an amazing son, husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, but most of all, he was proudest of his role of “Papa” to his boys.
Ben is survived by his wife, Erin(Hatfield), his two sons, Taylor and Chase, his mother Joy Kennedy, sister Kit, niece Hayley and nephews Gavin and Quinn, grandparents Stan and May Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his father Boog, Uncles Hiram and Luke and grandparents Bill and Genevieve Kennedy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 29,2017 at 2:00 pm at HEM High School in Hanna, WY.
Please write down any special memories you may have to bring with you. We are making a scrapbook for his boys.
Memorial Contributions may be made to HEM Bow River FFA program, PO Box 810, Hanna, WY, 82324.
